Hello boys and girls! I want to tell you all about the stellar-iffic summer playground program the City of North Battleford runs every summer.

Houk raises topsoil concerns

A steamed Councillor Trent Houk raised a fuss at city council over city administration's handling of topsoil removal in the city's southeast quadrant.

Senators draft Fransoo

June 25 was a day to remember for Jordan Fransoo. The North Battleford product and current Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) defenceman was taken in the 7th round (186th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the NHL draft.
Unity Midgets top league standings

Unity Midgets top league standings

The Unity Midgets finished out the regular Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League regular season on top of the standings. Battleford Midgets were second, with the Jr. Vipers third and Edam Ladies batting cleanup.

Dumais prelim hearing set

Dates have been set for the preliminary hearing for Norbert Dumais, charged with drug possession, sexual assault, uttering threats and breach of undertaking. The preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 16 to 20 in North Battleford provincial court.

School's out and summer rocks with activities

School may be out but it doesn't mean the children have to be bored without school to keep them busy. The Maidstone Library will be hosting summer reading activities every Wednesday afternoon from July 6 until Aug. 24. Sessions will start at 2:30 p.

Wilson among Order of Canada recipients

A former Battlefords resident turned nationally-known entrepreneur and businessnessman is one of those named to the Order of Canada. W. Brett Wilson is one of 50 people named to the Order of Canada last Thursday by Governor General David Johnston.
