One three-year term on the village of Muenster's council only served to whet the appetite of Jim Wasserman. He is among five candidates vying for one of four counci positions in the October 24 municipal elections. When he first ran for council in 2009, Wasserman says he saw becoming active with municipal duties as an opportunity to give back to the community where he was born and raised."I've just got to understand how things work," he said, speaking about the tasks of the village council. "It looks like it's going to be growing steadily," he added, "and that's pretty exciting. So I want to contribute to that as well."Wasserman, whose day job is being the vice-president of Saskatchewan operations for Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) in Humboldt, says he feels that the improvements that have been made in the village in recent years are moving things in the right direction."Muenster should continue on with the current direction," he stated. "That includes some planned growth as well as continuing to maintain existing services."
