Imagine this: You're cruising down the highway in your electric car, sun shining on your face, wind in your hair. You're happy, because by driving that electric car, you're helping to save the environment.

Patricia Thomas's grandfather wrote the original manuscript more than 50 years after he returned from the trenches in France. These days it's kept in a large green binder, yellowed pages full of charts and words and memories.

Many people aren't exactly clear on what the original Humboldt site represents. "It's where the city used to be before it moved," said one resident. Wrong. "I think it used to be a village and is the namesake for our city now," said someone else.

It's curtains for the Humboldt Co-op grocery store on Main Street. The store officially closed this past Saturday, with $3000 worth of food items, non-perishable and deleted products, being donated to the local food bank.

The best of the best in high school athletics were celebrated at Humboldt Collegiate Institute's athletics banquet on June 11. It was the school's first all-sports banquet; in previous years, individual teams had held their own celebrations.
