It's pretty sad when one of our province's claims to fame is leading the country in drinking and driving.

"I hope people will realize the power of tears," said Saskatoon artist Monique Martin, whose exhibit, Tear Room Project is currently on display at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery (HDMG).

GRUNSKY, Arlene Marie (nee Schiltz) Arlene was born on January 19, 1934 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm near Annaheim, Saskatchewan, with her parents, Cornelius and Mary Schiltz and four sisters.

BENTLEY, Ethel Anna (nee Egeto) Ethel Bentley, aged 95 years, passed away at Lanigan Hospital on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Ethel was born on the family farm February 20, 1917.

DUST, Doreen The peaceful passing of Doreen Dust, 87 years, of Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Wakaw and formerly of Bruno, occurred at her residence with her family by her side, on Friday, January 11, 2013.

The numbers are in and the Humboldt SPCA's Christmas fostering program was a resounding success. "Of the eight dogs we fostered, six were adopted and two are coming back," said Wanda Price, manager and animal care director for the SPCA.

Christmas is a time to gather with friends and family. The Filipino Association in Humboldt and District (FAHD) held their induction of officers and annual Christmas party on December 22 at St. Augustine School Gym.

Food Bank usage stabilizes after spike last year

Humboldt's New Year's Baby of 2013 made her debut last week. Amiya Marie Washburn was born to Dana Hobbs and Jerry Washburn of Lanigan at the Humboldt District Hospital (HDH) at 6:57 p.m. on January 3.

The new exhibit entitled "What We Do," adorning the walls of the Humboldt Museum is an example of how at-risk youth can overcome the odds using art as a medium.
