Shirley Doreen SchlosserJune 14, 1960 - December 8, 2011 The death of Shirley (nee Dyck) Schlosser, of Muenster, Sask., occurred after a courageous battle with cancer on December 8, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt.

It started with a child playing with a lighter, and ended with a visit from some firefighters. The Humboldt Fire Department was called to a house fire on the 300 block of 2nd Ave. in Humboldt just after 4 p.m. on December 5.

It was an exciting new take on an open house for Carlton Trail Regional College (CTRC). An open house was held by CTRC on November 29 in Humboldt.

After a presentation by a task force on November 14, Humboldt City Council asked their director of finance, Steve Brown, to review the suggestions of the Remuneration Task Force.

Two-hundred and five thousand dollars. That's how much money the Humboldt Good Neighbour Store gave away on December 5 to 31 area organizations and groups.

SOLAR:The death of Mr. Frank Steven Solar of Humboldt occurred at his residence on Tuesday, November, 29, 2011. He was 60 years of age. Born on March 29, 1951, to Joseph and Mary (nee Shinkaruk) Solar, Frank grew up on the Solar farm near Carmel.

It was a tight game, right from the first period, but the Broncos beat the Bruins when they battled in Humboldt for the first time this season on November 30.

They see it as a way to keep active when it's cold, and make the winter pass a little more quickly. And they're looking for more people to join them. The Carlton Trail Ski Club is looking to grow their membership this winter.
