It's a dark and stormy night in December. You're driving along the highway, snow is blowing, and it's hard to see. The vehicle in front of you goes off the road. It flips and rolls and lands in the ditch.

As the city grows, so do local businesses. Farm World in Humboldt will be constructing a new building on the outskirts of the city on Hwy. 5 east this spring. The building will be larger than their current location.

The Humboldt Regional Newcomer Centre (HRNC) hosted a multicultural potluck supper at Westminster United Church, December 18.

It was a hot topic at the latest City of Humboldt council meeting.

Local Habitat for Humanity project becoming reality

It will be a tropical holiday for a group of girls from Humboldt. The Humboldt Basketball Club, consisting of nine girls from Humboldt and one from Outlook, will be headed to Hawaii from December 17 to January 4 to play basketball.

A junior girls' basketball game between Muenster Cougar's and Watrous Wildcat's was held in Muenster on December 15. Watrous won the game 76-12.

There was a lot of puck movement, and not a lot of scoring, but the end result was another win for the Humboldt Broncos. The Broncos took on the Melfort Mustangs at the Elgar Petersen Arena in Humboldt on December 13.

Rural Secretariat looks into success of Action Humboldt

It was a battle two nights running, but the Broncos emerged victorious from their trip north last week. The Humboldt Broncos travelled to LaRonge December 16 for a two-game series against the Ice Wolves.
