Citizens of Humboldt will see a major change while driving through the city. The lights at the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 20 - or Main Street and 8th Avenue - will undergo major changes this week.

This year, the Humboldt Dodgers had one of the best experiences a team could ever have. It had already been quite a season for the 16-18-year-old AAA Midget players who won the provincial title in July.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. on August 20, Humboldt RCMP and EMS were dispatched to an incident at the Humboldt Airport as a result of the sudden death of a 40-year-old female from the Annaheim area.

STADNYK: The death of Mr. John Fred Stadnyk of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, occurred at his residence on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. He was 85 years of age.

LISITZA: Orest Morris Lisitza of Humboldt passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday, August 13, 2011. He was 80 years of age. Orest was born on June 18, 1931, to Joseph and Mary (nee Zip) Lysitza at Tway, SK.

MARTIN:Marianne was born on February 13, 1939, on her father's farm between Fulda and Pilger. From 1939 to 1956, she grew up on the family farm and attended Canvassback School.

It was a roaring success. The third annual Kevin Weber Memorial Run was held on August 13. The rally is organized by Weber's sister, Katrina Stelzer and husband Dave, in memory of Weber, who died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 44.

Under a glass casing, protected from dust and encapsulated by time, are tiny vials filled with soil from the Holy Land. On another shelf of the display case there is a bronze statuette venerating Saint Francis of Assisi.

It was a historic moment. The last step in the 142 staircase to the top of the Humboldt Water Tower was put in on August 12.

KELLOW:Katherine Rose (Struck) Kellow (formerly Stauber) died April 17, 2011, in Nakusp, British Columbia at the age of 97.
