"Fabulous." "A beautiful space." "Bigger than it looks from the outside." "I like the colours." Those were just a few of the comments made after tours of the new Humboldt District Health Complex (HDHC) last week.

It's done. The Humboldt District Health Complex has been officially opened. Employees of the Humboldt District Hospital were buzzing around the facility in the days before April 1, making last-minute preparations before it was unveiled to the public.

He's skated under the midnight sun in Alaska, and basked under the tropic sun in Florida. He's been a Senator, a Hurricane, an Admiral, a River Rat, a Penguin, a Moose, and at least three species of bear.

Years of work culminated in what some called a "wow" day for the people of the Humboldt area on April 1.

The ribbon has been cut to officially open the new Humboldt District Health Complex (HDHC) but it's not yet open for business.

Saskatchewan teams had very respectable showings at the Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championships last weekend, with the Bruno Junior Axemen earning a silver medal on the B-side following a tough 3-2 defeat to Quebec's Chums de Blitz.

For the fourth time in two seasons, the Humboldt Midget AA Broncos will be raising a banner to the Uniplex rafters.

On Thursday, March 24, 2011 Agnes Cecelia Poelzer passed away peacefully in Salmon Arm at the age of 87 years. She was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on November 21, 1923 to Michael and Elizabeth Poelzer.
