Close to 100 hockey players donned their gear and took to the ice at the Elgar Petersen Arena last week, hoping to end up wearing a Humboldt Broncos team jersey this season.

A unique look at heritage is the theme of the latest exhibit at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery, entitled Humboldt's Heritage Resources.

The first quarter of the Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks' season-opener versus the Tisdale Tornadoes was not kind to the hosts. The HCI Mohawks nine-man football team travelled to Tisdale for their first game of the season on September 2.

BURTON: Mrs. Marian Burton, age 81 of St. Mary's Villa Humboldt passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 26, 2011 with her husband at her side.
