Ray Diener, age 82 years of Humboldt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2011 with his wife at his side. Ray was born on September 30, 1928 in Jansen, where he received his education. He farmed in the Lampard district, worked at the Sask.

Mrs. Katrina "Kay" Ostapovich (nee Zelizney), age 87 years of Foam Lake died peacefully at her daughter's home in Humboldt surrounded by her loving family.

A year from now, they're hoping Humboldt will be painted green. In early May of 2012, Humboldt and area will play host to the RBC Cup, Canada's Junior A Hockey Championship.

Eunice was born to (Thomas) William and Helen (Hickey) Buckton on November 12, 1923 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She grew up in Tompkins, Sask. District and left the dried out prairies with her family to Pleasantdale/LacVert area the fall of 1938.

To err is human. To win is divine. The Humboldt Midget AAA Dodgers took advantage of a late Saskatoon Giants fielding error May 11 to win their opening game of the season 3-2.

Mrs. Marion Jenkins, age 94 of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt and formerly of Marysburg, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011.

Mark VidakApril 24, 1922 - May 1, 2011The death of Mr. Mark Vidak of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, (and formerly of St. Gregor), occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2011. He was 89 years of age.

They came home with a silver medal from HOOPLA, as well as recognition for their sportsmanship.

Herman Joseph WalbyAugust 18, 1930 - May 2, 2011The death of Mr. Herman Joseph Walby of Watson occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Monday, May 2, 2011. He was 80 years of age, and the last surviving member of his generation.

Rayna Jeannine Korte died on May 2, 2011 in her home in Humboldt while being cuddled by her parents, Cindy Placsko-Korte and Roger Korte. Rayna was born on July 28, 2004.
