Things just aren't the way they used to be. That's a grumble that's often heard in coffee shops. It really shouldn't be grumbled. That things aren't the way they used to be is often a good thing.

Information, public accountability, and more information. Those were the topics of discussion at a meetingregarding the merger of two local educational institutions held in Humboldt on November 29.

"Wow!" That sums up the feeling quite a few people had at a luncheon in Lanigan last week.

As the Christmas season, the season of giving, draws closer, some of those people who help others are worried about the demand for their services.

The CFL's Grey Cup final is over and the champions for the second year in a row are again the Montreal Alouettes. Congratulations to them, their coaching staff and supporters. The Saskatchewan Roughriders again finished second to Montreal.

The Humboldt Broncos added two to their loss column when they went on the road last week. The Broncos fell 7-4 to the Battlefords North Stars on November 23, then 7-3 to the Kindersley Klippers the next night.

They had a very successful season and wrapped it up with a gold medal.

Opening of new hospital now set for March

It was an intense game between the Humboldt Broncos and the Melfort Mustangs on November 26 at the Elgar Peterson Arena. The Broncos got an early lead with Spencer Braaten getting the first goal of the night just 59 seconds in.
