HUMBOLDT — SaskPower said it is dealing with some unplanned power outages in Humboldt.

The organization representing Saskatchewan’s urban municipalities is returning to its old name. The Municipalities of Saskatchewan will soon be known again as the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA).

COLONSAY — The Mosaic Colonsay potash mine will be reopening after being closed temporarily in August 2019 and indefinitely in January 2020.

HUMBOLDT — A custom-built Ford Mustang’s journey to raise money for the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) began at a Humboldt car dealership.

NIPAWIN — Due to the extreme fire hazard conditions, the Town of Nipawin announced a fire ban within the municipality. The ban is effective June 3.

CARROT RIVER — A fundraising committee for Carrot River’s new K to 12 school is hoping to raise $2 million by the end of June to go into enhancements for the new school.

A lot of progress was made the week of May 25 to 31 and seeding is 98 per cent complete. This is up from 85 per cent last week and well ahead of the five-year average (2016-20) for this time of year of 82 per cent.

HUMBOLDT — Only a few years after Jacob Wassermann took up adaptive waterskiing, the Humboldt product has earned a prestigious national honour.
