EAST CENTRAL — Masks will be required in indoor public places in Humboldt, Melfort, Nipawin and all communities with populations of more than 5,000. Due to their proximity to Saskatoon, the new masking rules also apply to Colonsay and Meacham .

WATSON — Pure New Energy (PNE) has submitted a tender to the provincial government to create a wind energy project about three kilometres north of Watson.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Community Library is starting a new program to challenge families with a pre-kindergarten child to get 1,000 books read to the child before they begin school.

HUMBOLDT — Grade 8 students at St. Dominic School in Humboldt held a small ceremony and placed hand-painted poppy stones they made at the gravesites of veterans in the Humboldt Public Cemetery.

HUMBOLDT — The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning the public of potential exposure to COVID-19 at a local business. On ​Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., a person or person was at Yuens's Cellular Service while they were likely infectious.

TISDALE — A new council will be taking to the table in Tisdale following the closing of the polls on Monday.

EAST CENTRAL — Linda Mattock will continue to represent the Humboldt-St. Brieux region on the Horizon School Division’s board of directors. Mattock received 784 votes for Subdivision 2 trustee, while Heather Zazula received 388.

NIPAWIN — The unofficial election results have been released out of Nipawin and Mayor Rennie Harper will keep her title going into the next term. Harper led the count with 373 votes, followed by Brian Starkell with 316 and Marlon Zacharias with 248.

HUMBOLDT — Michael Behiel has been elected as Humboldt’s new mayor with a total of 760 votes. Following Behiel was Lorne Pratchler with 549 votes and Harley Bentley with 130 votes.

CARROT RIVER — Dennis Letendre won the Carrot River’s mayoral election, in what the town is calling “the best” electoral turnout in 20 years. A total of 348 ballots were cast each for both mayor and council.
