MELFORT— The Melfort Municipal Health Advocacy Committee has kicked off community fundraising for the Melfort STARS heliport, asking for both cash and in-kind donations.

TISDALE — According to organizers, 149 youth in the community have currently signed up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Canada for February.

HUMBOLDT — While many Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League teams were wheeling and dealing last week, the Humboldt Broncos weren’t making too many moves on the ice. The team posted a 2-1 record last week.

MELFORT— The City of Melfort has finalized their 2020 budget, with an average property tax increase of 2.07 per cent. The city’s mill rate increased by .29 to 10.75. Rick Lang, Melfort’s mayor credits this increase largely to inflation.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Community Library has started a new program called “crafting corner” to give crafters in the community a place to socialize.

TISDALE — With hard work, Nic Andrusiak has earned a spot and role on his hometown Tisdale Trojans. Early on this Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League season, the 15-year-old rookie defenceman was not seeing a lot of playing time.
