TISDALE — The Tisdale Community Library is holding a passport-themed game for its annual Culture Days event. The event takes place at 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 26.

HUMBOLDT — When Humboldt Collegiate first started its football program in 1972, Tom Saretsky knew he wanted in. “We played a lot of football in the community with the buddies,” said Saretsky, who was in Grade 11 at the time.

LANIGAN — Efforts to build a new water park in Lanigan have received a $100,000 boost. BHP announced Sept. 5 that it will contribute the money over four years. The project is estimated at a total cost of $2.1 million.

TISDALE — Northern Strength Fitness held their official grand opening over half a year after their soft opening. The event contained a bouncy castle, truck pull and barbeque. The grand opening took place on Sept. 15.

HUMBOLDT — A public session about a proposed crematorium quickly got off its planned agenda after a group of attendees asked to change the format. The original plan of the Sept.

A few years ago the Riders were known as the Cardiac Cowboys for their ability to rally late in games and pull out last minute victories. The 2019 Riders have become such a team.

CARROT RIVER — The main storage shed of the Carrot River Co-op was destroyed by fire. At 8:18 p.m. on Sept. 12, Carrot River Fire and Rescue responded to the Carrot River Co-op for a structure fire.

EAST CENTRAL — The beginning. The Nipawin Hawks shut out Sherwood Division rival the Melfort Mustangs twice to sweep their home-and-home series. The Humboldt Broncos fell in regulation and in a shootout in their series with the Notre Dame Hounds.

HUMBOLDT — Although the Humboldt Broncos did not triumph in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s opening weekend, their head coach was pleased with their effort.
