NIPAWIN — A long-time Pineland Co-op board member was recognized for his 35 years of service as a delegate and 19 years as a board member.

WATROUS — Wadena-based Team Syrota won the provincial masters women’s championship. “It was a good feeling,” said Delores Syrota, the team’s skip. “This is our third consecutive year in a row that we won it, so it was really nice to cap the year off.

WYNYARD — A collision between a wide load semi truck and a westbound SUV resulted in a death. The SUV had just turned west onto the highway from 9th street when the collision occurred on the evening of March 18.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos are now ahead of the Estevan Bruins in the quarter-finals. With a 6-3 final score, the Broncos are 2-1 in the series The first half of the game saw several lead changes between the two teams.

EAST CENTRAL — The next school year will start for Horizon School Division students on Sept. 3. Students will be going to school for 183 days in the 2019-20 school year. Major breaks include two weeks at Christmas, which goes from Dec. 23 to Jan.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans’ playoff run is over, but their season is not. The Trojans fell 3-1 last week to the Saskatoon Blazers in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League best-of-five semifinals. The Tisdale squad still has hockey to play.

HUMBOLDT — Two members of the Carlton Trail Ski Club race team earned medals at the provincial championships.

HUMBOLDT — The Elgar Petersen Arena didn't make it into the top four in Kraft’s Hockeyville contest. The four arenas that made it to the final round are Wilkie, Sask.; Rich Valley, Alta.; Saint-Polycarpe, Que.; and Renous, NB.

HUMBOLDT — A promising first period for the Humboldt Broncos soon turned into a defeat as the Estevan Bruins recovered in the second, outshooting them 2 to 1. Estevan won 4-2.

ALLAN — The hometown of the team captain of the 2017-18 Humboldt Broncos will remember him by renaming the rink where he learned to play hockey.
