NIPAWIN — For two local anglers, a horrible pre-fishing session didn’t continue as they won this year’s Fish for Freedom. Marcy Armstrong and Shelly Hluchaniuk, both from the Nipawin region, caught three walleye with a combined length of 176.

MELFORT — There has been a delay in court proceedings for the driver of the semi-truck that collided with the Humboldt Broncos’ team bus. Jaskirat Singh Sidhu’s lawyer, Satnam Aujla, asked the judge on Aug. 21 if court could be adjourned until Oct.

NORTHEAST — There’s been multiple car thefts in the area over this past weekend. One theft happened in Nipawin, one in Arborfield and two in Aylsham.
