Ok, so there I was, snaking through the Sobeys parking lot, looking for my coveted, prized parking space like a python after its prey and lo' and behold, there it was.

The City of Humboldt has accepted the resignation of Steve Brown, director of finance, from the municipal organization. Brown's final day of work with the City is May 28.

The stardom searchlight has set its sight on Humboldt as local resident Ray Whitton was chosen as one of CBC's Searchlight contestants. "It was actually a friend that suggested I throw in a song that I wrote for my wife," said Whitton.

On Mother's Day about seven years ago, Lisa Shirley was at her job cutting fruits for a grocery store. A couple of the machines weren't working, so she took on the task of cutting by hand even though they had a high quota to meet.

LINS: Gerald Gerald Leon Lins was born on May 6, 1936. He was the oldest son to John and Freda Lins. He grew up with his brother Don and sister Joyce on the family farm near Humboldt.

LANGE: Norbert The death of Mr. Norbert "Bert" Francis Lange of Humboldt occurred on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Humboldt District Hospital. Bert was born on June 21, 1937 at Cudworth to Rudolph and Maria (nee Bens) Lange.

History will record them as just two games, but that would be like calling a Picasso just a painting, or The Godfather just a movie, or To Kill a Mockingbird just a book.

One of the more active events at the annual Summer Sizzler event in Humboldt is the Sunday morning race, formerly known as The Red, White and Run.
