Adult 12 (Level 4) students at the Battlefords Campus of North West Regional College celebrated the completion of their 2013-14 academic year May 23, 2013, in North Battleford.

The United Commercial Travelers of America started in the United States Jan. 16, 1888. The local chapter, the North Battleford Council No. 645, started Jan. 17, 1923 and the North Battleford Ladies' Auxiliary formed in 1928.

A unique literacy camp is being offered this summer by the public and Catholic school divisions, using a program set by Frontier College. The camp is free, open to Grades 1 to 6.

Eighteen Battlefords Art Club members enjoyed each other's company Tuesday at the Don Ross Centre and created works worth displaying. After giving a great workshop, Graham Flatt donated his book, Opposites Attract, in memory of Margaret Hassan.

Cleanup day at the local cemetery was a washout due to the rain showers about. It had to be cancelled, but in the meantime. There were some periods of unexpected sunshine, however.

Congratulations to Devon Cardiff and Sheila Gessner who were married June 7. The beautiful wedding took place in the yard at the Cardiff family home. Visiting with Janet and Chris Makey presently is their daughter, Kim. Kim makes her home in Ontario.
