Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre June 11 with Jon Smith and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. The loonie pot was won by Verla Mitchell. Lunch was provided by Bev Stewart and Denise Newton.

Borden School held their graduation banquet and exercises in the Borden Community Centre, June 13 with six grads and 160 guests at the banquet.

Students from Phoenix School, Battleford Central School and Manacowin School walked 25 feet of red carpet for the premiere of their music video We Rise Up From The Fire at the North Battleford Library Monday afternoon.

The guest speaker for this year's Living Sky School Division Student Hall of Fame had 1,700 ears eagerly tuned in to her story at the Thursday event.

The school year is quickly coming to a close and so are the extracurricular activities. The junior golf district playoffs were held June 10 in Macklin. The golfers from our school were Conner Rothenburger , Ty Fouhy, Tyson Wawryk and Brayden Harris.

The elementary track and field meet was held for the students from kindergarten to Grade 6 June 3. The day started around 10 a.m. The weather co-operated and there was an excellent turnout of spectators.

"This will really be like nothing you have ever seen in the Battlefords before," says Battlefords Jazz Society director Laird Brittin.

"She has hardly wavered. There've been times when it was very tough," says Rose Ray, mother of actress and dancer Natalie Krill. "She's very determined, she always was.

In the near future, downtown North Battleford will welcome an event that shares similarities with at least two experiences I've had, one being at a medieval festival in Arizona and the other at a festival I walked through while living near Whyte Aven

Administrators at St. Vital School dressed, danced, and sang as chickens as part of the school's sixth annual Poverty Hearts campaign. The campaign was held last February in conjunction with Free the Children's "We Are Love" campaign.
