This Sunday in Unity, despite participation dropping every year for a variety of reasons, organizers host the annual September Terry Fox Walk dedicated to fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation as well as honouring Terry Fox. There are two registration times - 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Registration will once again be held at the Anglican Church Hall at 200 - 3rd Ave. E.
Organizer Val Middleton has pledge sheets for anyone who wants to fundraise but Val says it would be nice to have people do something as simple as what Terry asked of his fellow Canadians and donate a dollar or whatever they feel they can give.
A five-kilometre route is suggested by organizers, however, if there are folks training and have their own favourite route they are free to use it as well. Middleton says she does need to know who is participating for a number of reasons.
Sunday is also an opportunity to show your appreciation and respect for our local legion by participating in their "Decoration Day" at the Unity Pleasantview Cemetery at 2 p.m. with a tea to follow at the Unity Legion Hall.
Congratulations to the organizers and participants of the Atton's Lake "Swing for a Cure" golf fundraiser to benefit breast cancer charities. This was the 10th year for this event and 176 golfers took part.

Coffee row simply had the biggest smiles and happiest of conversations starting Aug. 28 when it was learned that legendary hero, Weston Dressler, was coming back to the Riders. Harvest predictions and calculations are also busy table topics as the wisdom and experience only known in community coffee tables can assess this year's crop production. You can bet that discussion also includes the many activities and organizations that have reconvened this fall. So you see we keep busy in Unity with activities and wisdom from our friends on coffee row. Until next week.
