The Sons of Norway could be found at Meota June 6 for their annual golf tournament at the Meota Golf Course and for Norwegian whist at the Do Drop In. Eight people played golf but no one got pictures of the winners.

I have been involved in Unity's Run for Riderville and I still chirp my Avonlea relatives that they "stole" the title from us. I have been on Western Canadian fastball committees. I aided in several years of the Hockeyville bid.

The school year is quickly coming to an end. It is hard to believe there are only three weeks left until summer vacation begins. These last three weeks will be very busy with finishing courses, exams and year-end excursions.

Well track and field is complete for another year at the school. The high school meets were first with H. Hardcastle holding their in-house meet May 14.

Auxiliary takes summer recess

Ten members of the Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 met at the Maidstone Museum kitchen for a potluck picnic supper to end the meetings for the summer. Members will be recessing for July and August. We hope to see all members back in September.

Unity Western Days seemed to be back on track as all avenues of the weekend appeared to have fared well. Friday night's Citizen of the Year banquet, celebrity cow ride hat sale and dance following were all well attended.
