Mary Evelyn Brawn (nee Wright) was born on July 12, 1920 in Campellton, N.B. Her father died in 1922 from war injuries. Without a principle breadwinner, Delia Rose (Ev's mother) and Ev suddenly found themselves without a family income.

The Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary held their annual Mother's Day tea and bake sale on May 10 in the Legion Hall. Members had a successful day with an attendance of 67.

The fourth annual Champions of Mental Health Gala was held May 11, with six special awards handed out to individuals and groups who better the lives of the community's mentally ill.
