Augustine of Hippo once wrote, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." For 15 students, 11 parents, and three chaperones from Unity Composite High School (UCHS), we've now read at least one chapter.

In the fall of 2010 when we were on tour in Eastern Canada and the United States, we stopped at Rita's Tea House in Big Pond, N.S., for afternoon tea.

Milt and Lil McMillan are pleased to announce they have a new great-grandson, Carter Milton McMillan. The proud parents are Dale and Gala McMillan. He is a little brother for Austin.

The final bingo of the season was held April 12 at the seniors' centre by the handi van committee.

Eightieth birthday greetings go out to Lorna Bater on her recent birthday in late March. The family held a small gathering at the Bater farm home, but due to old Mother Nature, it was a real tricky day weather wise with more snow and blowing snow.

April 18, I and many others at St. Vital School took a vow of silence for one day in order to raise awareness for children who are silenced in the world. Our silence was intended to be their voice.

Elvis was in the building, actually several buildings, recently in support of the Orange on Patrol Relay for Life team.
