Glenburn Park holds fundraiser

A good crowd attended the Glen "Burger" barbecue fundraising event at the Maymont Seniors' Centre to raise money for improvements to Glenburn Park. The famous Glen "Burger," chips, beans and pop and coffee were served.

North Battleford's Chapel Gallery hosted a very fine group of Saskatoon musicians, the Elixir Ensemble, Sunday afternoon. Not having been widely publicized, only 22 people were there to enjoy the excellent music and musicians.

Quilters donate 12 pet blankets to animal shelter

Rivers' Edge Quilters met March 30, with 14 members present. It was reported that 12 pet blankets were delivered to the animal shelter to be enjoyed by our four legged friends.

Snow makes a return appearance

Sunday morning we woke up to a white world again. The snow that fell in the night partially disappeared during the day and travelling was not affected by the snow. Monday we once again woke up to see new snow on the ground.

Ten-digit dialing coming soon

Bingo was played March 7 at the Maidstone Drop In Centre with Margaret MacEachern and Denise Newton doing the calling. The loonie pot was divided between Jean Hartman, Margaret MacEachern, Denise Newton and Dorothy Schwartz.

Easter brings visitors

April 4: Colleen Koski was at her son Riley's for supper Sunday. It was an early Easter supper for them as Riley is leaving for a holiday in Europe. Irene McKee is now a resident in Pine Island Lodge.

Survey crew starting work at new subdivision

As spring continues its advance there are a few things here in Meota that will be starting up. This past week a survey crew was busy spending time, doing what they do, in the planned subdivision along the road to the transfer site.

Easter brings visitors

April 11: Theresa Kennedy enjoyed Easter Sunday supper with daughter Jackie and Kim Gerbig with all their family. Colleen Koski accompanied Val Morris to North Battleford when Val took her mom, Jeannine Schempp, for a medical appointment.
