When St. Vital School students returned from We Day Alberta last October, they were inspired to make December their strongest fundraising month to date, as the school enters it's fifth year committed to supporting kids in need.

The Blacktop Boys, Brian Wappel, Bryan Beach, Ryan Bater and John Chipak, will provide music for the Battlefords Community Players' upcoming country opera production of Cruel Tears.

Hi there! Happy new year everyone! Do hope you had a merry Christmas in spite of the cold weather and all the snow. I think though by the length of my report many of the tenants here did.

Everybody has a story "It's a learning experience." That's how Joyce Radchenko, who recently received a special gift from students at North Battleford's McKitrick School, looks at life.

Snowmobile rallies are coming up in the Borden area. The Borden Community Centre preservation committee with the help of the Borden Parks and Rec. Board hosts one Jan. 19. The rally starts at 10 a.m.

Once again I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone who publishes this letter and everyone who takes the time to read it a very happy and healthy New Year.

At times pictures speak louder than words. The Wilkie Minor Hockey Day took place Dec. 22.

After an all too short Christmas holiday it's back to school for local students Jan. 3. University students return to classes Jan. 7. Best wishes to all of you for a happy and productive semester.

New Year's Eve at Maymont Seniors' Center was a great event again this year. Family and friends gathered to bring in the New Year, enjoying games, entertainment and a potluck lunch. Thanks to everyone who attended.

Happy New Year! Happy birthday today to our 18-year-old girl, Shelby - time has flown. We will treasure every moment as this is her graduation year.
