The third annual Back to the Bowl Redberry Lake musician appreciation day will be held at the Redberry Bowl located on the grounds of Redberry Lake Regional Park, June 10.

The Borden Co-op and Affinity Credit Union held an appreciation barbecue lunch May 29, serving over 200 burgers and hotdogs as well as cake and drinks to members and school children.

Hafford Central School teacher Tara Welsh and educational assistant Christine Gonda took the initiative to seek out information regarding a high school cooking competition sponsored by Ag in the Classroom (Sask.) Inc.

Paynton has had a busy week starting with the community bake and craft sale hosted by the local library June 2.

John Paul II student Janay Leniuk recently returned from a semester in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. She stayed with a host family, and served the community through a number of different tasks.

Eleven UCHS athletes travelled to provincials the first weekend of June. Although athletes were not able to hit the podium there were some personal bests and the coaches were proud of all achievements.

Speers and District United Church ladies held their Mother's Day tea, bake and plant sale in the recreation hall May 19 and enjoyed a good turnout. Denise Taylor had a good variety of plants for sale and did well on her sales.

Sunday a number of the apartment ladies enjoyed the music and turkey supper at the Pine Island Suites. I spent the weekend in Cold Lake, Alta.

Congratulations to all the junior and senior high track athletes from Neilburg Composite School (NCS). They all advanced from Lashburn to districts in Meadow Lake. At Meadow Lake, Bailey Tyler placed first overall in the bantam girls' division.

Catch the 10 whist was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre May 21. High score went to Jean Stewart and low to Bev Stewart. Lunch and hosting by Jean Hartman. Bingo was played May 23 with a good turnout.
