The community of Ruddell held its annual July 1 picnic with a lively crowd attending. This year was the108th consecutive celebration. Races, games, ice cream and lemonade were enjoyed by all.

The village of Denholm celebrated 100 years, 1912-2012. Registration was June 29. Coffee and dainties as well as a cash bar were available. The next day started off with a continental breakfast, followed by a parade.

John Paul II's annual graduation ceremonies took place June 28. The day started with a meaningful mass organized by John Paul II's chaplain, Andrea Sparrow. That afternoon, the awards ceremony took place.

Awards presented

The annual awards day for Marsden Jubilee School was held June 25 in the gymnasium. Honour roll recipients were Jaiden Graham (Grade 3); Jacob Biensch, Travis Morgan and William Sorenson (Grade 5); and Tyra McIntosh and Raymond Granger (Grade 6).

Communities in Bloom members inspired

A group of ladies from Waseca travelled to Marshall Friday to attend a Communities in Bloom workshop. The event was intended to promote the organization and encourage people to become involved.

Entangled and taking over from technology

The Chapel Gallery is hosting a unique exhibition in the Window Salon during the month of July. Entangled is a collection of works by Prince Albert artist Twyla Exner.

Hafford Central School held its annual high school student awards recently. Distinction awards were presented to Grade 7 students Jessica Attrux, Austin Lavallee.
