For students who want to volunteer or fundraise for charity, high school clubs is a good way to do this. For students at Humboldt Collegiate, they now have the Student Action Squad to help them get out into the community.

A threat made on social media against the Hudson Bay Community School by a student caused the school to take a hold and secure stance. The Hudson Bay RCMP were alerted to the threat Oct. 6 by the school.

A recent Tuesday was a day for the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of the Battlefords to recognize nine community leaders with Canada 150 medals.

It’s official; Gerry Ritz is no longer MP for Battlefords-Lloydminster. Ritz resignation had been announced in late August, but it finally took effect last Monday, Oct. 2.

It is a rare opportunity and something that Humboldt Public School took advantage of. For the second year in a row, Ducks Unlimited are planting one more crop on a section near Carmel.

Submitted North Battleford residents came together Saturday, Sept. 30, at the intersection of 95th Street and Abbott Avenue to paint the Vimy Ridge Memorial Flight Logo. While painting, the community also enjoyed a corn roast.

The 2018 Saskatchewan Games committee named the Rotary Club of the Battlefords a platinum sponsor, after the Rotary club donated $25,000 to the games.

The Battlefords Business Excellence Awards took place Tuesday at the Dekker Centre and it was Ilta Grain Inc. who went home the big winners. Ilta Grain Inc. took home the award for Business of the Year.
