Early October is once again a time of fire prevention activities as North Battleford held its annual Fire Prevention Week Oct. 8-14.

North Battleford city councillors got an update last week on the latest about the decommissioning of the GE filtration equipment and the Battleford water line to the FE Holliday water treatment plant.

Effective Oct. 19, the Ministry of Environment, in consultation with the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, has issued a ban on all open fires for provincial Crown land and for provincial parks and recreation sites south of Highway 16 to the U.S.
