Representatives from Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program were before North Battleford city council Monday night with some big proposals for Central Park.

It was another busy year for the Humboldt Summer Sizzler with the weekend being full of activities for everyone. The four day event kicked off with the Sizzler Concert on June 14.

Students will soon be off on their summer holidays; apologies to parents, congratulations teachers. And thanks to the Reid-Thompson Public Library and the TD Summer Reading Club, they will be continuing to read during their summer.

It has been a relationship that has been going strong for 25 years.

The Nipawin Hawks will begin the next season with a bang, playing their first two games against their rival, the Melfort Mustangs. “It’s going to be nice for the communities to see each team right away,” said Doug Johnson , the team’s head coach.

A vehicle stop on the weekend has resulted in charges for two individuals. Kane Nicotine, 20, of North Battleford, and Deshane Bird, 19, of Lloydminster have been charged with a number of firearms related offences according to the RCMP.

Building permits are down for the month of May in North Battleford, but city officials don’t see a big cause for concern yet.
