A special cheque presentation was made Wednesday afternoon at Saskatchewan Hospital as the Saskatchewan Hospital Centennial Committee made a presentation to AMGITS, which is the Saskatchewan Hospital Auxiliary, in the amount of $344.19.

Battlefords RCMP responded to just under 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. Among those calls were two false alarms and two false/nuisance 911 class. Friday 8:10 a.m.

Three men are being sought after what Battlefords RCMP are calling a home invasion in North Battleford Saturday. Police say the three men entered a residence on the 1200 block of 104th Street at about 8 a.m. wearing disguises and armed with firearms.

A cooking fire set off a fire alarm at No. 2 - 2311 Ross Cres. Friday at about 7:10 p.m. North Battleford Fire Department responded to the alarm with one truck and four firefighters, but the fire was limited to the cooking container.

The recent news that Walmart is expanding its Carlton Trail location seems part of a national trend. The company is in fact in expansion mode right across Canada. Walmart Canada Inc. announced details of those plans Tuesday in a news release.
