HUMBOLDT — Humboldt has been approved by the provincial government as an area that’s eligible to receive assistance under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program.

The program helps cover the cost of uninsurable essential losses for private property owners. Some private property owners in the city received major flood damage from a June 30 rainstorm.

If you are a property owner who has experienced damages due to the rainstorm, application for the program can be downloaded from the city’s website at humboldt.ca/pdap or picked up at city hall.

The city said it doesn’t believe city property was damaged in the storm beside a sinkhole on Second Avenue.

Humboldt’s council requested help from the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program at a special council meeting July 6.
