RCMP arrest 27-year-old woman in Onion Lake homicide investigation

Over the past several months, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North (MCU-N) has continued to investigate the homicide of 26-year-old Braeden Alfred James Sparvier, of the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Over the past several months, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North (MCU-N) has continued to investigate the homicide of 26-year-old Braeden Alfred James Sparvier, of the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

On July 16, MCU-N investigators, with the assistance of officers from the Prince Albert RCMP Detachment, arrested a 27-year-old female who was identified as being involved in the homicide.

Shari Heathen of the Onion Lake Cree Nation, has been charged with second-degree murder, contrary to Sec. 235(1) of the Criminal Code. She is scheduled to make her first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 17.

The investigation is ongoing.
