HUMBOLDT — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Humboldt area as of 3:08 p.m July 10.
A watch alerts the public about weather conditions that are favorable for a storm or severe weather, which could cause safety concerns. A warning, the next level, is an urgent message that severe weather is either occurring or will occur.
"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain," Environment Canada said. "Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches."
The watch ended at 6:23 p.m.
