Volunteering is important to the Battlefords and area, and a recent Saskatchewan Health Authority event showed its appreciation. The Saskatchewan Health Authority hosted a volunteer appreciation event at Lawrence Hall in the Dekker Centre.

Part-time firefighters seek and find community involvement
The North Battleford Part-time Firefighters Association has concluded their first sandbag fundraiser and they hope to make it an annual event. This year $1,500 was raised to donate to the community and they hope to do more for local causes.

A fire ban is now in place in the R.M. of North Battleford No. 437. According to the R.M., the fire ban took effect April 12 due to dry conditions in the area. No burning permits will be issued until further notice.
