In the last decade, Saskatchewan has seen a dramatic shift in which student enrolment has been on the rise. To aid this growing trend, the provincial government proclaimed the week of Nov 17-21 as International Education Week.

With the years creeping ever onward, it becomes increasingly important to recognize what few reminders there are of those who risked it all.

The Humboldt Kinettes are starting up their annual Christmas Cheer Campaign to give hampers of food and toys to families in need. The Kinettes got involved in 2006 and since then, the number of hampers has been rising every year.

Bullying Awareness Week took place Nov. 16-21 and with it, the province unveiled new anti-bullying initiatives and highlighted existing ones.

The campaign to raise the final portion of funds needed for the new Battlefords Trade and Education Centre building has begun in North Battleford.

The Battlefords Tourism and Convention Association is moving ahead with plans to upgrade their new location at the Battlefords River Valley Visitor Centre.
