Humboldt's bid for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games has ended in disappointment. On Nov. 26 the Saskatchewan Games Council announced that Estevan had won the right to host the 2016 Games, beating out Humboldt, Swift Current and Melfort.

Humboldt's city manager, James Moller, submitted his resignation to City of Humboldt council members on Nov. 25.

There were no injuries or instances of smoke inhalation, however the occupants of the Travelodge Hotel in North Battleford were evacuated Tuesday evening for a short time due to smoke being spotted in the unused nightclub area. Just before 8 p.m.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, including a case of tire slashing and a structure fire. Tuesday 7:55 a.m.

The City of North Battleford 2013 centennial celebration committee has announced details of the final closing ceremonies of the 2013 centennial year. They are set for between 1 and 2 p.m. at Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts on Dec. 31.

An individual was sent to hospital with undetermined injuries after an unusual accident at an auto sales business in the city Monday. North Battleford Fire Department personnel were called to the site at about 4:30 p.m.

Approximately 25 cars and six semi trucks were involved in a collision Saturday on Highway 16 just west of Maymont. Members of the Warman and North BattlefordRural RCMP responded at about 10:30 a.m., as well as WPD Ambulance and STARS.
