The City of North Battleford announced Friday that 56 people were recognized as Snow Angels in December. That swells the total number of nominations to 80 since the program was launched in October.

The Humboldt Kinettes were busy packing hampers and organizing supplies on December 20 for their Christmas Cheer campaign. This year, the Kinettes helped a total of 73 families - 16 couples without children and 57 families with children.

It was a big cheque in many ways.

The centennial year of 2013 kicked off in grand style on New Year's eve. The hub of New Year's activities was the Civic Centre where the "Let's Get the Party Started!" event took place.

Primary health care and preservation of senior long term care infrastructure were discussed when the Prairie North Regional Health Authority held regular monthly board meetings Dec. 19 in North Battleford and Nov. 28 in Lloydminster.

It is a surprising honour. When Adam Duke of Humboldt and Saskatoon learned he was the 2013 Junior Citizen of the Year, he was a little shocked. "I was in the middle of finals so I was kind of taken off guard," said Duke.

Saskatchewan auctioneer Frederick Bodnarus of Bodnarus Auctioneering was awarded the 2012 Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) Auctioneer Champion title at CWA in Regina in November.
