One of the remaining accused in the Mosquito First Nation TLE case is going to trial this fall. Gerald Arthur Bird, who was TLE trustee on the reserve, is going to trial for fraud and criminal breach of trust.

The Town of Battleford has quietly dropped the idea of bringing in criminal record checks for the 2012 civic election. Members of town council received the information about the idea at their Monday council meeting.
