22% of crop seeded, dry conditions affecting soil moisture: northeastern crop report

Summer Sizzler won’t be going ahead for 2021
HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt summer tradition will not be going ahead for another summer. Michael Ulriksen, the city’s community services director, said the city had to cancel the Summer Sizzler for 2021. “We have no choice but to cancel,” he said.

Charko wins Carrot River mayoral byelection
CARROT RIVER — Roman Charko has been elected the new mayor of Carrot River. In a May 12 byelection, Charko received 171 votes. His opponent, Dylan Borody, received 127. No ballots were spoiled. Charko will serve the community until November 2024.

HUMBOLDT — Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools has been informed of a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at Humboldt’s St. Augustine School. The Saskatchewan Health Authority informed the division about the case May 12.
