The Grey Cup is coming to North Battleford. No, we're not talking about the Grey Cup game. We mean the actual trophy. You can circle Jan.

The Meota Combines hot streak continued Dec. 20 as they beat the Perdue Pirates 6-3 at the Civic Centre. The Combines (6-1) have won six straight games after an opening night loss to Maymont.

The Saskatchewan Handgun Association hosted and supervised an air pistol and air rifle clinic Dec. 16 at the Battlefords Wildlife Federation.

The Northland Power Curling Centre will be host to some of the best curlers in the province later this month. North Battleford is hosting Saskatchewan's Junior Provincial Men's and Women's Curling Championship Dec. 27 to Dec. 31.

The Battlefords AAA Stars will be heading back to Calgary for the Mac's Midget AAA World Invitational Tournament from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

Ed Kjargaard, with the help of Tom Foster and the Wintonyks (William and Marguerite), had but one loss and one tie in the fall session of the New Horizons curling.

Amy Weighton led the way for Prince Albert with two assists as the Bears beat the Battlefords AAA Sharks 4-1 Dec. 17 at the Battleford Arena. Four different skaters found the back of the net for the Bears.

The Meota Combines extended their winning streak to four games Saturday night as they beat the Shellbrook Silvertips 5-3 at the Civic Centre. Taylor Willsey led the way for the Combines with a goal and two assists in the game.

Four local skaters have qualified for the upcoming Saskatchewan Winter Games in Prince Albert Feb. 16-19. Corrine Sokul, Kira Tollefson, Cortni Millhouse and Jalissa Klippenstein all advanced to compete in Prince Albert.

The upcoming holiday season will cause some alterations to the schedule at the aquatic centre. For the most part the changes will mean less organized activities in the pools and more available space for leisure swims and lane swims.
