OUTLOOK - It seems that progress on the new fire hall in Outlook is advancing further and further along as the summer goes by.
Now that we're into August, the building's exterior is taking serious shape, with passersby getting an idea of what the finished project will look like in the riverside community. The bay doors, in particular, show that the Outlook-Rudy Fire & Rescue team will have plenty of space for both vehicles and equipment once the hall is complete.
In relation to the project, the RM of Rudy is holding a public hearing on Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 pm in the council chambers in Broderick to hear any person or group who wishes to speak on bridge financing of the fire hall project. Council will also consider written comments that are received at the hearing or delivered to the RM office beforehand.
Bridge financing, also known as a bridge loan, is a short-term loan that helps people manage the transition between properties. It speaks to having an immediate need for funds for any such projects or purchases. For example, if someone was selling their current home and purchasing a new one, they might need to apply for such a loan.
Interested parties wishing to have a say can contact the RM of Rudy at [email protected].
Donations for the new fire hall are still being accepted, with more than $1 million raised. However, with strained Canada/US relations and tariffs being lobbied across the border, the proverbial goal post for the project has moved to an area of just over $1.6 million.
The new fire hall in Outlook is targeting a completion date of this fall.
