OUTLOOK - A Saskatchewan team of female lacrosse players traveled to Canada's West Coast to play in a national tournament.
A previous story by this reporter last week showed the under-19 women's field lacrosse team holding practice sessions on the field out at LCBI High School from July 22-24.
Getting themselves conditioned and ready for what lay ahead of them, the roster then traveled to Coquitlam, BC to take part in the tournament that was centered on the Jenny Kyle Cup, awarded to the top women’s team at Lacrosse Canada’s U19 Women’s Field Lacrosse Nationals.
Played over July 28-30, the Jenny Kyle Cup event saw Team Saskatchewan face off against Team First Nations, Team Alberta, Team BC, Team Manitoba, and Team Ontario throughout the three day tournament.
Unfortunately for the Under-19 girls, Saskatchewan saw no wins throughout the event, but the team still saw the opportunity that was in front of them and capitalized on it, going home with many memories and perhaps a new drive instilled in them to return to this same event next year.
