Government, union, disagrees on amount saved

The number of properties in tax arrears is higher than average this year. On Feb. 17, the Review reported that nearly $200,000 is owed in unpaid property taxes from 2016.

For the year 2016, Nipawin saw more crime than Melfort or Tisdale. Staff Sergeant Darren Wouters brought last year’s statistics to Nipawin Council March 13.

The Nipawin Chamber of Commerce is looking for some extra funding from the Town. Last year, the Town’s fee for service accounted for $15,000 of the Chamber’s revenue. This year, the Chamber would like to see that increase to $30,000.
