TISDALE — Although Tisdale’s Drayton Hvidston passed a big hockey test last Friday, he knows there is more hard work ahead.

MELFORT — After serving in a more administrative role, Melfort’s newly hired fire chief is hoping to get his hands dirty fighting fires. Jason Everitt is currently the fire chief for the City of Prince Albert. He starts in Melfort July 3.

TISDALE — Braving the weather, 222 children competed in the SOLE-stice regional comepition in Tisdale – the largest of its kind in the province “Even though it was cold and rainy, the spirit of the kids and competition was fantastic,”said Harvey Webe

TISDALE — It was the culmination of a year’s worth of training. The #624 Tisdale Air Cadets held their annual ceremonial review at the airport June 6, where cadets were recognized for their hard work and received their promotions.

MELFORT — The Northeast’s newest MLA is loving his job so far. Todd Goudy, the MLA for Melfort, was elected to his position in a March 1 byelection and participated in his first legislative session, held March 12 to May 31.

NORTHEAST — It was a victory the three largest high schools in the Northeast could share.

TISDALE — It was a day of celebration for 26 students at the Tisdale branch of Cumberland College as they graduated from their programs. With 16 graduates, the adult basic education program was the largest contingent at the June 1 ceremony.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin council has passed the first phase of a plan aimed at getting citizens to walk and bike more often.

PRINCE ALBERT — A 31-year-old Tisdale woman with a knife was tasered by the Prince Albert Police Service. On June 3 at 7:40 p.m.

ROSE VALLEY — Vandals in Rose Valley smashed vehicles and knocked down a rack of tires, leaving them all over the road. Greenwater RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find the culprits.
