I admit it, I do have one addiction. No I am not an alcoholic or a gambler; I am simply addicted to texting. At one point or another, the count of texts I was sending started to seem like nothing.

On Sunday, Aug. 12, there was a celebration honouring Saskairie's 40th Anniversary. Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. approximately 40 people of all ages attended the celebrations. At 2:30 p.m.

It appears Premier Brad Wall's Saskatchewan Party government has tapped into the formula for political success in the province. Or at least, the Sask.

Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party was in full swing between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7. Over 100 people were registered in the camp from Canada and the United States with many fantastic instructors from across North America attending.

The Saskatchewan Games, which took place between July 29 and Aug. 4, had Team South East do very well.

This is about the one that didn't get away. Los Angeles went fishing for a slugging outfielder and landed a kid by the name of Mike Trout, who is almost guaranteed to hook the 2012 American League rookie of the year award.

The town council meeting on Aug. 1 was a short one, as the members did not have a large number of issues to discuss. The mayor did not have a report to open with this week, as he said it hadn't been a very busy two weeks.

Sunday at noon hour was a sad but also happy occasion filled with both laughter and tears. Not only did it mark the farewell lunch to a great Pastor, but also a goodbye to the man who brought Shockwave Youth Centre to town.

The Kenosee Lake Kids Camp, which is sponsored by the Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party, was held from Saturday, July 28, to Tuesday, July 31. The camp took place at the Boys and Girls Camp within Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

They have always said that everyone in Saskatchewan has at least one foot on the farm. To some extent, this remains true. But there are a few other realities we factor into this old cliché.
