OXBOW — A GoFundMe campaign was started for the family of the late Brianna Hayes, the Oxbow woman whose body was found in a rural location in the RM of Moose Mountain around noon on April 25.

The campaign was started by Oxbow's Kalika Chicoine in the evening on April 25, and aims to raise $20,000 for Hayes' family.

"My name is Kalika Chicoine, I am a long-time friend of Brie," Chicone wrote on the campaign page.

"As many of you know we are saddened to announce the passing of Brie Hayes. We are starting this GoFundMe to help the family with funeral costs and any other expenses that they may have at this time.

"Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone in advance!"

As of Friday afternoon, the campaign attracted close to $5,000 with 55 donations.

On April 25, 27-year-old Tyler Shaw from Gainsborough was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. On April 26, RCMP said they charged Taylor Japp, 24, from Oxbow with second-degree murder.
