The Assiniboia Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion made a donation of $4,000 to the Grasslands Health Centre in Rockglen on September 26. On hand to accept the donation from Assiniboia Legion member Carol Henderson, on the right, was Lisa Cairns, on the left, who is the Director of Care for the Assiniboia Union Hospital and Grasslands Health Centre. The donation came from the Assiniboia Legion’s Poppy Fund. The funds will be going to the bath tub system at Grasslands. For the able-bodied, taking a bath is simple task, but for the elderly with mobility issues bathing is basic activity that is out of reach. “Mobility is a challenge,” said Cairns. This new tub system will have specialized chairs and specialized scales making a bath a daily possibility.
