Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop holds Annual General Meeting

The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop held their Annual General Meeting on June 17 in their new Day Program building located at 1800 Ebel Road.

The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop held their Annual General Meeting on June 17 in their new Day Program building located at 1800 Ebel Road.


The report given by Chairman Ken Meckling stated that "…the past year has been like a dream come true as we saw our new facilities come to fruition." He also acknowledged the strong Board of Directors for their many volunteer hours and thanked the community for their support.


The report from Executive Director Andria Brady detailed the successes of the past year and thanked the staff for their passion and commitment to providing positive supports.


The highlights of the year included:


May - broke ground on Phase 2 of the construction project - the new Day Program Building.


October - Moved Woodshop, Paper Recycling and Confidential Document Shredding programs into brand new Vocational Training Centre.


November - opened brand new SARCAN Recycling depot and held official grand opening with local and provincial dignitaries in attendance.


January - purchase of Harvest Pie Company.


Detailed reports were provided on the various divisions and the auditor's report highlighted the positive financial position the agency ended the year in.


The evening ended with tours of the new building.
