A new contest with simple rules, is coming to Estevan next week and all a potential customer has to do is show up at a local participating business and do a little browsing and shopping.

Entry tickets for the contest will be found in the weekend editions of Southeast Lifestyles for the duration of the contest.

“It’s about doing things locally and supporting the local businesses. Support and win locally,” said Mercury/Lifestyles marketing representative Deanna Tarnes, in explaining the contest. “Estevan is a great place, and this will prove it.”

It has been pointed out by community supporters that it’s the local businesses that are the cornerstones for all the city’s promotions. Every cause, committee, or sports team relies on the local businesses for support in one form or another whether it be through raffle items, work-in-kind or cash donations, it’s the local businesses that are continually stepping up to be counted on, in good and bad economic times.

Local consumer support means local businesses can continue to contribute.

Based on that fact, the Mercury, Estevan’s oldest continuous business, is acknowledging and featuring these businesses through the local contest and business profiles over the next 13 weeks. The business profiles will be featured within the pages of Southeast Lifestyles and on the Mercury’s social outposts, Facebook and Twitter.

Check the Lifestyles pages over these weeks for your ticket to a chance to win some cash.

The participating businesses have also indicated that entry tickets will be made available to customers in-store as well for shoppers’ convenience.
